Assi Ghatअस्सी घाट
The southernmost ghat, where the Assi stream once met the Ganga. Every dawn the Subah-e-Banaras aarti, yoga and classical music greet the sun. Tulsidas is said to have lived and written nearby.

- Boats from Assi to Dashashwamedh at sunrise pass most of the main ghats in about an hour.
- The lanes behind the ghat have the city's most relaxed cafés.
