Lalita Ghatललिता घाट
Nepal's gift to the riverfront. King Rana Bahadur Shah, living in exile here around 1800, began a copy of Kathmandu's Pashupatinath above the steps; his son finished it, and the carved-wood Nepali Mandir still stands between Dashashwamedh and Manikarnika. The ghat is named for Lalita Devi, whose shrine here is one of the city's shakti sites, and it is now the river entrance to the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor.

Tips
- A short walk north along the river from Dashashwamedh Ghat.
- The Vishwanath Dham gates open from the ghat; shoes and phones follow the temple's rules from here.
How to reach
- 3.2 km from Varanasi Junction (Cantt) station in a straight line
- 22.1 km from Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in a straight line
- 0.6 km from Godowlia crossing, where cars stop for the old city in a straight line
Straight-line distances; by road through the lanes it is further.
