Good to know

  • A few minutes' walk from the Kashi Vishwanath Dham towards Mir Ghat; pilgrims often pair it with Vishwanath and Annapurna.
  • The doors close in the middle of the day (about 12:00–16:00), so plan a morning or evening visit.

The present temple was built in 1893 by the Nattukottai Nagarathars of Chettinad, and their Tamil inscription is still on its wall. Tamil pilgrims honour her alongside Kamakshi of Kanchi and Meenakshi of Madurai.
