When fares are cheapest, and when to book early

Fares to Varanasi follow the festival calendar more than the season. Book well ahead for Dev Deepawali (24 November 2026), the New Year week, Maha Shivratri and Holi, when flights from Delhi and Mumbai fill and prices climb. Weekday flights outside these weeks are usually the cheapest, and Delhi, with the most flights a day, gives the widest choice of times and fares.

  • Book early: Dev Deepawali (24 Nov 2026), New Year week, Maha Shivratri, Holi
  • Cheapest: weekdays outside festival weeks; Delhi has the most choice
  • Fog season (Dec–Jan): prefer midday arrivals and long connections
