Pedestrian-friendly streets, new sewers and drainage, and organised vending zones around the Buddhist site were inaugurated by the Prime Minister; food-street hubs at Sarnath and Maidagin followed. On 25 July 2026 the 'Ancient Buddhist Site, Sarnath' was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, India's 45th, and construction within 100 m of the heritage zone is now barred.

- ਵਾਰਾਣਸੀ ਜੰਕਸ਼ਨ (ਕੈਂਟ) ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਲਕੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ 7 ਕਿ.ਮੀ.
- ਲਾਲ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਲਕੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ 18.4 ਕਿ.ਮੀ.
- ਗੋਦੌਲੀਆ ਚੌਕ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲਈ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਰੁਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਲਕੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ 8.1 ਕਿ.ਮੀ.
ਇਹ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਲਕੀਰ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਦੂਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ; ਗਲੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੜਕ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੂਰੀ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧ ਹੈ।
