Ramlila of Ramnagarरामनगर की रामलीला

On now

For a month the whole town of Ramnagar becomes the stage: Ayodhya, Janakpur and Lanka are permanent sites, the audience walks between them, and no electric lights or loudspeakers are used. Begun by the Maharaja of Banaras in the 1830s; Ramlila is on UNESCO's intangible-heritage list.
