కాశీద్వార్ గురించిकाशीद्वार के बारे में
Kashidwar — “the door to Kashi” — is an independent guide to Kashi, the city also called Varanasi and Banaras: its ghats and temples, every faith that lives here, the festivals of its year, and the projects changing it.
కొన్ని వివరాలు ఆంగ్లంలో చూపబడ్డాయి.
Who runs kashidwar.com
Kashidwar is an independent project. It is not an official website of any government body, temple trust, religious organisation or tour operator, and it does not sell tours, boat rides, rooms or darshan tickets.
Where this site describes a temple’s timings, a government project or a festival date, it links to the organisation that is responsible for it, so you can always check the source yourself.
Why this site exists
To help people arrive in Kashi prepared: when to come, where to go, how to reach it, and what to expect, without the noise of advertising.
To present every tradition of the city — Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Muslim, Christian and the Bhakti saints — with equal care and in each tradition’s own words, without ranking any of them.
To be useful in the visitor’s own language: the site is available in Hindi, English and eleven other Indian languages.
How content is checked
Every place, festival, project and guide lists the sources it is based on, and each fact is checked against them before it is published.
- Official sources come first: government departments and press releases, temple trusts, the Archaeological Survey of India, UNESCO, transport authorities.
- Where no official source exists, only established newspapers are used, and the page says so.
- Government projects carry a status — Completed, Under construction or Announced — with the date it was last verified. A status that cannot be confirmed from an official source is marked unconfirmed.
- Festival dates follow the lunar calendar; each date shown is taken from a published panchang or an official holiday list, and a festival without an announced date says so instead of guessing.
- Fares, timings and rules change. Guides say when a figure was last checked and advise confirming before you travel.
- Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, each credited to its author; a photograph not taken in Varanasi is labelled as such.
Updates and corrections
Project statuses are re-checked regularly; the date of the last check is shown on every project and in the footer. Festival pages always point to the next occurrence, and the site rebuilds every week so those dates stay current.
Guides show when they were first published and when they were last updated. They are reviewed before the festival or season they cover, and whenever an official change is announced.
If you find a mistake, an outdated timing or a missing source, please write — corrections are made as soon as they can be verified.
